Republican congressman Joe Wilson's 'You lie!' outburst during Obama's health care speech during the Congress' joint session has opened congressional opportunities for Democrat Rob Miller. Critics said that the biggest beneficiary of the 'You lie' outburst is Wilson's rival in the upcoming 2010 elections ' Rob Miller. After Wilson shouted to Obama, a fund raising website has been set up to get donations for Miller's campaign. Reports show that the website has already raised as much as $42,780 so far, as funding for Miller's congressional candidacy next year. Miller will be Wilson's opponent in next year as congressman for South Carolina. During the 2008 election, Rob Miller lost to Joe Wilson by eight points and Wilson won his re-election.
Rob Miller was an Iraq war veteran who left the Marine Corps in the year 2008 to bring fresh ideas and solutions to South Carolina. His is running again for congress in 2010 for two main reasons. First, is to provide proper care for USA's troops and second is to give ethics reform in Washington.
Obviously today, Wilson's inappropriate outburst which is considered by many critics as 'embarrassing' is already paying off for the Miller. As a war veteran, Miller has effectively made a case that Wilson's outburst was disrespectful to the nation's commander in chief and this has paved his way for a decent chance for a congressional seat.
